As part of the big 2.0 update, Longplay is getting a full-featured macOS companion app. Collections and playback stats sync between them, and it's quite pretty to look at.

Gotcha: You can only listen to albums that are not DRM protected.

🎊 The sizeable 2.0 update of Longplay for iOS is ready for beta testing. It brings a Now Playing screen, album queues, infinite album shuffle, collections, CarPlay, Siri support, and a bunch more.

I have been using it for many months and it's solid in my testing, but be aware that it might be a bit bumpy as it's the very first public beta.

Anyone using .org? Could add support for that, too, but no one has asked about it so far.

New 2.0 beta is out that revises the Now Playing layout on iPad and on iPhone in landscape, and also adds Last.fm scrobbling.

Today's beta adds a healthy dose of polish to the track list in the Now Playing screen: Clearer highlighting of the current track and better use of space when there are long track titles and per-track artist info. (The dynamic colours do occasionally make a few things hard to read, so an opt-out for that would make sense.)

Longplay boosted

Decided to not bother with upgrade pricing or freemium for the big Longplay 2.0 update. Instead I'll keep it pay-upfront and bump the price. Business-wise it's a lousy decision but it's a passion project, and with our new baby arriving very shortly, I rather spend the energy elsewhere. Looking forward to getting this out into the wild!
